Creating a dance shoe starts with many small pieces, and one of the first steps in our workshop is the cutting of the upper. ✂️
When we speak of the upper, in fact, it is not just the material you will see on the outside of the shoe. During this phase, the inner lining, the straps, and all the various elements that will subsequently be used to assemble it are also cut.
Leather, suede, satin, glitter, and laminated materials also require attention during the cutting stage: you must evaluate the grain, position, and characteristics of each material, especially when a shoe combines different colors or finishes.
Cutting can be performed by hand, following the pattern templates with precision, or by using die cutters. In this case, the die is placed on the material and pressed by the cutting press, obtaining the piece in the necessary shape.
Once all the elements are prepared, they can move on to the subsequent processes and begin, piece by piece, to become a real dance shoe.
It is only the beginning… but this is precisely where each of our shoes is born. 👠✨
